Oils & Pastels

About the Artist

Steven Verenicin was born in Europe, came to the United States in 1955 and was soon drafted into the US Army. After serving his tour of duty, he began his studies at Tyler School of Art and Architecture, Temple University, Philadelphia, PA. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree in the summer of 1962. He also took courses in graphic design at the University of Arts, also in Philadelphia.

After graduating from Tyler, Steve Verenicin was in advertising art field for quite a few years. Today his specialty and passion lies in oils and pastels, though sometimes, he does work with acrylics.

Steve Verenicin shares: ”Everything that I paint, except portraits, comes from my own imagination. There was a period in my art, where I incorporated female shape as part of the landscape. I know what I want to achieve but do not always know where I am going to end up. The painting takes me by my hand, so to speak, and leads me to its final destination.”

Steve’s work has been seen in One-Man Shows and as a participant in various art shows.
